This program is a unique combination of residential life, academic engagement, and social activities that prepare students to be leaders in an increasingly global society. At first, it felt strange to live with people I had only met during my First-Year Seminar, but as time passed, I grew to love it.

Several of my students organized a holiday pie fundraiser at the time when the Syrian refugee crisis was front and center. They not only learned about the Syrian conflict but also how to organize an effective fundraiser. Our students have participated in the Science March, March for Immigration, and Women's March.

Many current efforts at colleges and universities are focused on flipped classrooms and leadership seminars. The administrator used his own school experiences to inform how these student organizations operated.
