The purpose of the SAAL awards is to to recognize the assessment work of members that advances the field of studentaffairs assessment and furthers the mission and values of SAAL. While the question was intended for someone currently working in studentaffairs assessment, it gave me pause to reflect on what prepared me to be a professor. One part about being a studentaffairs assessment coordinator I enjoyed most was learning about the various functional areas in the division.
I actually started out in higher ed working in studentaffairs. So I spent about 11 years living on campus in residencelife with students, mostly freshman students. And that was one of the first opportunities I had to collaborate with faculty as a studentaffairs professional. ,
These bottom tiers often include scalable, preexisting services that include (but aren’t limited to) advising, residencelife, health and fitness, campus ministries, and student groups. The upper tiers represent high-intensity options such as 1:1 counseling, while the bottom tiers represent lower intensity programs and services.
I’m excited to release the new fourth edition of my eBook on residential curriculum and curricular approaches, sponsored by Roompact. The content is expanded from the third edition and now includes more visuals and worksheets. It is also now designed in an 8.5 x 11 format. This should make it easier to print, if you wish!
