L&D for manufacturing line workers is very different than L&D for pharmaceutical chemists. I have yet to see much of that in the corporate market so far (and I’ve seen precious little of it in the higher education market, which I know much better). I don’t mean to slam the platforms in the market now.
To test this out, Philip Bailey (Head of Teaching, School of Chemistry) and Deborah Fowlis (Careers Consultant, Careers Service) co-ordinated interactive workshops run by experts from the chemical industry, enabling students to experience real workplace scenarios. Might chemistry students gain the same benefit from experiential learning?
