It represents my personal reflections of working in UK higher education (HE) professionalservices roles and simultaneously gaining research experience through a Masters and Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD). I use this metaphor to share my experiences, and three phases, of becoming a professionalservices researcher.
Our hope has been to highlight the breadth of our student initiatives, as well as the many competing motivations involved in developing and supporting peer-led groups. Some of the skillsets favoured in professional candidates across many industries are common to Citizen Scholars, and in this case Student Leaders, as well.
