Host a Fundraiser: Raising money is a great way to take action. Several of my students organized a holiday pie fundraiser at the time when the Syrian refugee crisis was front and center. They not only learned about the Syrian conflict but also how to organize an effective fundraiser.

As a final product, I have had my students develop tools (charts, quizzes, mind maps, etc.) My students choose one invasive species in the community to focus on. They then research the invasive species and explore solutions to the problem from a variety of perspectives.
