Tsai Lu Liu Liu is the head of the Department of Graphic Design and Industrial Design at North Carolina State University. Liu’s scholarly work focuses on analysis of user experience, applications of design thinking, industrial design processes, product development and manufacturing, and pedagogy. Liu holds a B.S.
Her work has led to several technological advances, such as simulation tools for assessing emergency department patient flow, improved manufacturing processes for medical devices, and a sensor-based system to conduct early screening of Parkinson’s disease. in industrial engineering from the University of Michigan; a B.S. and an M.S.
“This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of our community colleges to serve as hubs for regional Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) that convene high school educators, community college faculty, and representatives from local employers and workforce agencies,” Dr. Karen Stout says in the award notification.
