Throughout the day, I had the chance to meet academics and fellow students from UoE and other institutions. Design Agency allows students on the Graphic Design programme to graduate with four years of full-time education with an honours degree and, simultaneously, four years of work experience. Each year, senior students team together in Creative Director roles to form their own profit-generating agencies.
For the student, this provides them with the more unusual opportunity to move away from their university bubble (and comfort zone) and apply their subject knowledge and skill practically, with the express aim of supporting an external agency. The student project and its legacy comprise the component with the greatest proportion of marks.
This was under the University’s Employ.ed program , which saw us developing a course prototype delivered in the form of a website , a Learn page, and a final presentation.
