Illinois Central College to cut majority of course term lengths in half

Illinois Central College is aiming to shorten the bulk of their course terms in half. Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Chuck Swaim, said 70% of ICC’s students are part time and have at least one job. He said it’s a major reason they have decided to make many of their classes last eight weeks instead of 16 weeks. “They’ve got to intertwine [their] work schedule with their life schedule, with their education,” Swaim said.
