Report: Community Colleges Are Leaving Millions in Medicaid Funding on the Table

According to a newly released report, community colleges miss out on at least $115 million in available Medicaid funding each year. Only 3% of community colleges bill Medicaid for services, despite 84% of community colleges likely being eligible for Medicaid reimbursement. The report, Increasing Student Support and Success by Boosting Medicaid Engagement, draws on data collected from a review of over 1,000 community colleges.

Jacob Duran has been involved with dorm worship since his freshman year. Now, as a sophomore, he is the Director of Combined Dorm Worship and Spiritual Residence Assistant for Newton Hall. In the past years, each residence hall at PUC hosted its own dorm worship. During the 2023-2024 school year, students felt each worship was the same program, leaving them uninvolved with fewer attending throughout the week.
