In September 2016 Sally Brown , an assessment, learning and teaching in higher education consultant, was invited to speak. The next meeting is in May 2017 and will be looking at opportunities for staffdevelopment such as the Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) in Academic Practice (PgCAP) and peer observation.
The weekly topics are: animal behaviour and welfare; waiting area and consulting room; preparation area and operating room, recovery areas/kennels, and in-patient care; and post-operative care. She provides pedagogical advice and develops innovative approaches for CPD resources, MOOCs, and online MSc programmes.
Experience of Mid-Course Feedback We have evaluated the effectiveness of mid-course feedback over the last two academic years, via an online survey of undergraduate Course Organisers and through consultation with Schools. Overall, responses are very positive. Guidance on what constitutes mid-course feedback will be produced.

We consulted widely engaging staff and students. EDE are responsible for delivering a number of services to the University, including: advice, consultancy, and training for learning technologies; Learning Design (ELDeR); support for online learning, including MOOCs; and support for open education resources.
Gavin McCabe Dr Gavin McCabe is a Careers and Employability Manager in The University of Edinburgh’s Careers Service and previously led the Employability Consultancy, in both roles leading and shaping strategy and activities around students’ employability, development, and graduate attributes.
The second half of the presentation is also really interesting: Tobias Thejl- Madsen talks about the new Reflective Toolkit developed by the Employability Consultancy (in the Careers Service), which uses blogging as an example of a tool for reflection.
