The unfortunate reality is that not everyone in the community is warm, safe, fed, and able-bodied enough to get through the harsh winter. They learn about food insecurity, practice teamwork and communication, and build skills in organization and logistics.

We spend an hour with parent/family liaisons and community outreach coordinators who instruct us on the importance of reading at home to overcome vocabulary gaps or how to navigate systems at school. Imagine that.
