Knowing how to turn the tide can feel impossible—not to mention that increasing competition in the transfer recruitment space continues to crowd an already crowded market. I’m currently enrolled at a CC (technical college). But things aren’t all doom and gloom. I’m so confused. I’m enrolled in their transfer program for psychology.
You need an easy-to-use way to automate high volumes of data from various digital platforms, direct communications, and events. In contrast, enrollment in the public college sector declined by 5% with communitycolleges losing 351,000 students since 2020. Has our school marketing performed as planned?
Comprehensive Learner Records are billed as a new way for learners to communicate the totality of their educational experience. And we did a good job of marketing it. Part of that was the marketing techniques we were using. But, what goes in a CLR? How are students utilizing it? And so that was a great step. So leadership.
In this episode, we sit down with John Fink from the CommunityCollege Research Center to discuss what we learned from the data and how it can help dual enrollment practitioners. It’s a favorite part of my job is going out into the world, outside of the college and visiting. and only about 74 communitycolleges.
We were working with colleges 10 years ago who are building communitycollege baccalaureate programs. So these are, you know, bachelor’s degrees program at communitycolleges. All of this stuff is going on in colleges. And so I’ll give an example. And so it is all one in the same.
And we talked about there’s a lot of students that are attending a communitycollege that want to transfer to another institution, but don’t end up doing it. Eight out of 10 students that go to a communitycollege want to go. Like if I get all these wraparound services, Heather (11:12.749) Mm-hmm.
You’re making me pay to, to go back to communicate something that I know that I know this and so that barrier is very real for people, right? But I also know that the industry at large, when you served a more 18 to 22-year-old traditional market, you weren’t thinking about transfer. That is a tremendous market right now.
We owe a plan so that our public workforce system, education and training provider, partners, human service providers throughout the system understand what targets they need to reach and how they need to partner. So we’ve got to have more virtual service delivery. But I think you’re absolutely right.
