The BizPALS scheme has been recognised in the university for its successes with student study and pastoral support, so who better to work with than our well-established PALS network, notably our Student Senior Leader, Kate Schafferius , and Dr Lisa Nowak , the Students’ Association Peer Learning Coordinator.
Whether it’s refining technical expertise, developing leadership skills, or fostering entrepreneurial spirit, these projects play a crucial role in preparing students for their future careers.
Moreover, studentsengage with the ‘real word’ and solve ‘real problems’ compared to artificial ones posed by a lecturer. These are skills required to function in the professional world and match attributes outlined by the University. These projects also develop research and critical skills obtained when writing essays.
I wanted an opportunity to meet other students who are not on the same program as myself, meet other faculties and staff of the university, engage in a life-changing activity where I could contribute to the university and its development. I must say that SACHA has given me that connection with the university.
