To improve PGRs’ satisfaction, enhance the student experience, and ensure the quality of doctoral education in line with sector developments, I wanted to co-create a new Development Needs Analysis for the University.
Reflection is an essential skill for their academic, personal, and professionaldevelopment and success, now and in the future. And as for any skill that impacts students’ development and success, it is important that we purposefully and meaningfully recognise, support, and nurture it, within and beyond our curricula.
Ideas about professionaldevelopment for university teachers have also moved on. While teacher development often takes place through formal programmes or workshops, there are also powerful opportunities for development through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Happy reading!
