The University offers a wide range of continuing professional development (CPD) resources and courses, including Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), on different platforms (EdX, Coursera, and Future Learn). Indeed, as the drive for scholarly research to become ever more Open Access gathers pace, Wikipedia will increasingly become the digital gateway to this research. Despite the scarcity of studies on the use of VR in classrooms, evidence examined so far suggests that VR is a powerful tool for provoking empathy and self-efficacy, according to an article by The Hechinger Report. Therefore, according to the research, this shifts the participant’s perception of touch toward the virtual body.

Through conversations with my peers, I learned many flourished under the cut and dry method of teaching: you read the articles, you come to lectures, you listen, and you learn. However, there seemed to be little room for discussion or debate – my preferred methods of learning—in my postgraduate course. I found myself bored.
