In 2020, NJIT created the Hispanic and Latinx Leadership Council, which is made up of students, faculty, staff and alumni as well as business and community leaders who work collaboratively to address recruitment, retention, engagement and persistence among Latinx students.

BCAP is open to currently enrolled MIT undergraduate and graduate students who have an interest in helping under-served communities of color. Student organizations with a focus on diversity and inclusion are also encouraged to apply. Recipients of project funding from BCAP are known as BCAP Fellows.
