Many can be directly attributed to the decertification of ACICS by the Obama administration. Over the past few years, 65 for-profits closed and seven merged with other institutions. Not surprisingly, ACICS was decertified by the Obama administration in 2016. However, the Trump Administration has other ideas on accreditation.
