In my programme, MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems , the student leadership consists of two class representatives and a diverse ten-member class committee of students from different countries. The class representative works closely with the Programme Director, Engineering School, StudentUnion and other organisms across the university.
Take a multifaceted approach by creating identity and affinity centers for underserved communities such as LGBTQ+, first-gen, student veterans, and parents. Also important are common spaces like studentunions, libraries, and their events and programs, like student support organizations, and peer-to-peer relationships and service delivery.
Rather we focus on one of the primary figureheads of student voice within universities the sabbatical officer and consider how they are empowered to represent the voice of their peers to their university. Sabbatical officers are elected by the student body to represent their interests to the wider university community.
