While at MIT, she served on the board for the Black Students’ Union and presented recommendations for making the campus more inclusive. Since 2020, she has been working as a data scientist at Microsoft, building machine learning models to detect malware.
At the University of Edinburgh, we currently welcome Visiting Students on Erasmus Exchange, International Exchange and the Study Abroad programme. Once they are here, they work with the Visiting Student Offices throughout their period of study. We also pride ourselves on our StudentUnion, with over 280 social and sports clubs to join.
In my programme, MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems , the student leadership consists of two class representatives and a diverse ten-member class committee of students from different countries. The class representative works closely with the Programme Director, Engineering School, StudentUnion and other organisms across the university.
Indeed, it evokes everything that partnership working should be, whilst also making clear that community is both the means and end product of instituting partnership within our universities ( Mercer-Mapstone and Abbott, 2020 ).
