CSUSM’s inclusive hiring practices have increased Latino representation among faculty, administrators and staff. All faculty and administrator searches must have a DEI advocate who completes specialized training. Over the last five years, there has been an 11% increase in the four-year graduation rate for Latinx students.

A: All of my academic roles have incorporated student success, whether as a faculty member teaching and mentoring students or as an academic administrator. First-year programs are not as common for graduate institutions. At Claremont Graduate University, we developed programs to help students at different points.
